The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today joined the Muslim Ummah at the Ikeja Central Mosque to observe the weekly Jumu’ah service.
The service, led by the Chief Imam of the Ikeja Central Mosque, Imam Kamorudeen, was attended by thousands of worshippers. In his sermon, the Chief Imam admonished the congregation to be upright in their relationship with God and in their dealings with fellow human beings. He stressed that love remains the foundation for peace and progress in any society.
Addressing the congregation after the prayers, Chairman AKOD expressed his profound gratitude to the Muslim community for their unwavering support during and after the electioneering period. He assured them of his administration’s commitment to policies that will foster unity, peace, and development in Ikeja, while also appealing for their continued prayers and support.
Comrade Dauda further pledged his administration’s readiness to work with the Chief Imam and mosque leadership to improve the mosque’s infrastructure and ensure it remains a befitting place of worship.
The women’s group of the mosque also came out in numbers to warmly receive the Chairman, offering special prayers for the success of his administration and the prosperity of Ikeja Local Government.
